The Southern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica is truly a wonderful place to visit with its laidback attitude, spicy piquant food, and unique Afro-Caribbean culture. The legendary reef break Salsa Brava explodes from December to April. It can also be good around June and July. It’s perfect for professionals and experienced surfers. Cahuita National Park is great for a gentle hike, if you are lucky you can spot monkeys, iguanas and even sloths. There are many great places to snorkel and see protected coral reefs. Puerto Viejo has a great Jaguar rescue Center where they rehabilitate and release many different species of animals. They offer a few different tours to help with funds that make this Rescue Center possible.
